FAITH:  LARGEST growing market for bosch

When Bosch launched components to the market, the general public only saw it as for retired people who needed a support after a hip replacement. The goal for the second generation of components was to change the public opinion and make an e-Bike a overall accepted alternative.
The e-bike department development had problems implementing the design style guide for a user friendly and attractive battery pack for the 2nd generation product portfolio. I had to take the style guide of the dynamic layer language and make it work. Adding a prominent grip area that concealed the lock was a key feature. The Power pack line work is specially refined to fit most angles of bike frames as this is sold as an OEM product. Later I was asked to redo the Nyon display unit with the same scope and many more components.

With this design and outstanding performance, the Bosch e-bike components in no time became the benchmark for the industry worldwide.

Initial studies showed that carrying the battery and knowing if it is well placed were the major usability issues.
By integrating the handle in the shell and using that space as a guide to place the battery, 2 problems were solved with one solution.
