As it had been a while since I really did a creative project, I wanted to try something new. I loved the idea of having a table for the family wthat was big enough so you could have family dinner and also leave stuff on the other side. I decided to make one myself as I could not find a nice one on the market and discovered to love of woodworking. Now I am taking commissions to make large oak furniture as a side business.
Working with a natural material and hand tools is a way of meditating, you can not rush things and have to learn from the subject how you need to handle it. With every new project you learn something new about yourself and the craft.
As we lived at the 3rd floor of an old building I made the table in the guestroom as I didn't have a workshop back then. It was quite a challenge but I loved every second of it
